Right to Consultation

If you are between the ages of 16 & 65 and have not been seen for the past 3 years, you may request a consultation. We strongly encourage you to do this as all adults should have their blood pressure checked every 3 years.

If you are over the age of 57 and have not been seen for the past 12 months, you may request a consultation. We will be very happy to see you.

Carers

If you would like to be registered with us as a carer, or a patient with a carer, please let a doctor, nurse or receptionist know.

Access to information

We are bound by strict guidelines regarding access to medical records. You are protected by the Data Protection Act (1998) and our own in-house Confidentiality Policy. There may be times when we share anonymous data with external bodies e.g. the Primary Care Trust. However, data which identifies you will not leave the practice without your written consent.

Violent Patients

In line with NHS policy, we do not tolerate physical or verbal abuse to our GPs or any member of our practice staff. Violent patients may be asked to leave the practice.

Teenage Appointments

We offer a confidential service to teenagers when one of our practice nurses will be happy to give advice on all health related matters. This is also a chance for teenagers (usually in the 14 - 16 age group) to have their tetanus, polio and diphtheria booster vaccination which will protect them as they enter their adult lives. For an appointment, please contact the surgery on 01636 702363 and access nurse appointments.

Quality

The practice runs a quality system which is maintained by a Quality Audit Committee. The system incorporates both administrative and clinical quality guidelines and relies on the constant support and training received by staff. Procedures are updated in line with national and local developments in health care, ensuring that we deliver an excellent quality of service to our patients.
